the title of this post is an oxymoron because so far life isn’t really that great.
in other words, the only free time i’ve had today is NOW. and NOW. and NOW. (basically, the time it takes for me to write this blog.) and it’s already 10:07 in the evening. would you like to know why my life is so busy??? either look at the previous entries or enjoy this one.
today’s final was english. it really wasn’t that hard, except for the poetry analyses. i kind of had some problems in that area. but, i managed to finish the entire exam 30 minutes early, giving me an ample amount of time to read a really good book called “Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie” by David Lubar. speaking of english, the book i just mentioned is on the summer recommended reading list for 7th and 8th graders. so far i’ve read two books, and in a day or two i’ll be finished with three. it’s great news for me because the requirements are to read two to three books over the summer. but i really want to read more than just two or three books, because i want my literary experiences (ooh how sophisticated) to broaden a little bit.
BACK TO FINALS! so my english teacher walked in and he was looking around and he said, “Well, it’s quite surprising that only one person remembered to bring a book or something else to study.” and that was when all eyes turned to me. well, almost all eyes. there are some people – guys, F.Y.I. – who act as if they have attention deficit disorder and refuse to follow instructions. okay, so there wasn’t really any instructions at the time, but still, majority rules, and the majority of the class was looking at me. i just smiled nervously and returned to my book – which, again, is an AMAZING 375 PAGES OF YOUR LIFE!
and then…as always…i had tournament training.
today was a little warmer than yesterday, but since i had some frozen Gatorade in my water cooler (in this case it’s a “Gatorade cooler”), i didn’t have a problem. my endurance has actually significantly improved from last year. (did i tell you that already in the second entry? whatever…if i did, you heard it again now!) we also switched people around today, since we pretty much have an image of the skill level of each participant, so instead of being with this 10th grade girl named Maurie, a guy came this time and his name is josh. i don’t know if he goes to my town high school or not, but he doesn’t look familiar. everyone’s older than me, so who does, anyhow?
so anyhow (for the second time…haha), he’s actually really nice and while we were picking up the balls he was all “oh my GOD this is so tiring! how do you handle this?” and i replied with, “i don’t really know, actually.” yeah, i know, that was probably one of the stupidest replies in the history of the stupidest replies in the history of the world. but nobody noticed. *there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.* i am not a stupid person, obviously, if you know who i am, so i cannot ask a so-called “stupid question”.
anyhow (for the third time…hahahahahahaha…i’m done), towards the end of the three-hour time period we are always playing singles and then doubles. i was paired up with josh for singles. i won all the games, and i felt really bad for him because he was older than me and based on this loud conversation i had with someone else, he knows i’m on a different school campus, for different, YOUNGER people. but it was kind of intense because in the last game we had TEN deuces!!!!! i got really nervous when the deuces started repeating, and i could tell that he was really nervous at first as well. but soon we laughed it off and whenever another deuce came, we said “here comes deuce #5″ or “okay, deuce #9″. it was actually really funny for me, and i don’t know if it was funny for josh, but he didn’t seem depressed or anything. and when we met at the net to do that traditional good-match handshake, he said, “good match, you killed me, good job”, and i replied “oh yeah *laugh* thanks”. so yeah enough said about him…no offense, but…you know what i mean.
i just wasted over 15 minutes of my life writing my life story for you. (it is now 10:23 in the evening.)
